Four members of stamp fraud ring arrested

Four members including mastermind Forman Ali Sarkar of a stamp fraud ring have been arrested from the capital’s Motijheel area in a joint drive conducted by RAB and NSI.

Law enforcers also seized huge fake judicial and non-judicial stamps, court fee stamps and cartridge paper during the operation.

RAB-3 captain Lt Col Arif Mohiuddin Ahmed said this in a press briefing at its media center in the capital Karwanbazar on Saturday (May 21) noon.

He said, “Forman Ali Sarkar, Tuhin Khan, Ashraful Islam and Rasel were arrested in a drive conducted at Motijheel in the capital on Friday (May 20). They were selling fake judicial stamps, non-judicial stamps and revenue stamps for long days. Though Forman Ali identified him as a vendor he failed to show proper tally of the stamps seized from his possession.”
