BSEC satisfied with Shakib’s gold business

Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) has expressed satisfaction with the explanations from Reliable Commodities Exchange Company and Buraq Commodities Exchange Company owned by allrounder Shakib Al Hasan.

However, the BSEC suggested the two firms exclude the wording "Commodities Exchange" from their name.

BSEC sources said that letter has been sent to the managing directors of Reliable Commodities Exchange Company and Buraq Commodities Exchange Company on Wednesday (May 25).

Earlier, on April 22 this year, Shakib inaugurated gold showroom at Banani in the capital Dhaka. He entered into a deal with Curious Life Style for launching the gold business.

Burak Commodities Exchange Co reportedly got approval as a dealer from the Bangladesh Bank on November 28, 2019. The company already started importing gold bars and ornaments marketing those through its Dhaka, Rangpur and Cumilla offices.
