Hajj expenses increase by Tk59000

The cost of performing hajj has increased this year. Each pilgrim will have to pay additional Tk59,000 more.

In a press briefing, State Minister for religious affairs ministry Md Faridul Haque Khan revealed the matter on Thursday noon (May 26).

The minister said that a provisional Hajj package was prepared considering the possible cost due to the late announcement of the Saudi government following the Covid-19 pandemic.

Considering socio-economical condition of Bangladeshi hajj pilgrims, we have decided to increase Tk59,000. The decision was taken by the executive committee on Hajj management unanimously.

Gazette notification will be issued regarding the matter on May 28, 29 and 30, the minister added.
