Gold price drops to Tk 79,548 a bhari

Jewellers on Thursday lowered the price of gold by Tk 2,916 to Tk 79,548 a bhari (11.664 gram) on the local market as the price of the precious metal has fallen on the global market.

The revised prices will be effective from Friday (27 May), said a Bajus press release.

The price of 22-carat gold per bhori will now stand at Tk79,548, which was Tk82,464 previously.

According to the new rate, the price of 21-karat gold has been decreased to Tk 75,933 a bhari and that of 18-karat gold to Tk 65,085 a bhari.

The price of traditional gold has been dropped to Tk 54,237 a bhari from Tk 53,829 a bhari, the release said.
