Teacher murder: Jitu put on 5-day remand

Ashraful Islam Jitu, the prime accused in the case filed over the murder of Haji Yunus Ali College teacher Utpal Kumar, has been put on a five-day remand.
Dhaka Senior Judicial Magistrate Court Judge Razib Hasan passed the order on Thursday (June 30).
Earlier, Investigation Officer Emdadul Haque produced him before the court seeking a 10-day remand.
Additional public prosecutor Anwarul Kabir Babul confirmed the matter to risingbd.
On June 25, Jitu attacked lecturer of the Humanities Department Utpal Kumar Sarker with a cricket stump on the college campus. Later, the teacher was admitted to Enam Medical College Hospital where he died on June 27.
