Man sets fire on the body in front of National Press Club

A man on Monday (July 4) tried to commit suicide in front of the National Press Club in the capital as he could not get money owing to a company.
He was known as Kazi Anis, 50, a contractor hailed from Panti village under Kumarkhali upazila in Kushtia.
He was taken to Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Palstic Surgery Institute in the capital around 5:00 pm.
It was learned that Kazi Anas owed Taka 1.26 crore from Henolux, a private company of the country. He also formed a human chain programme over the matter four months ago, but does work. As a result, he set himself on fire on Monday.
S M Ayub Hossain, resident surgeon of Sheikh Hasina Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute, the patient is in critical state as 90 percent of his body got burned.
