Suicide by fire: Henolux MD, Director arrested

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested Nurul Amin, Managing Director (MD) of Amin Manufacturing Company (Henolux), and his wife Fatema Amin, also director of the company, over the incident of a person’s death by setting fire on self in the capital.

They were arrested from their residence of Uttara in the capital on Tuesday (July 5) afternoon.

A N M Imran Khan, Assistant Director (Legal & Media) of RAB Headquarters, confirmed the matter to risingbd.

He said, “The arrestees would be handed over to the Shahbag Police Station in the capital.”

Earlier, Nazrul Islam, elder brother of deceased Gazi Anis, filed an abetment to suicide case with the Police Station.

According to the case statement, Gazi Anis used to supply products to the company. He chose the path of suicide by setting fire on self in front of the National Press Club in the capital on July 4 as he failed to get the money after many efforts.

Mentionable, the fifty-year-old Gazi Anis, who sustained nearly 80 percent of his body burnt in the fire, was being undergone treatment at Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute. He succumbed on Tuesday morning.
