Proposal to hike Tk 20 a liter for soybean oil

The Bangladesh Vegetable Oil Refiners & Vanaspati Manufacturers Association, a forum of the refiners, has proposed the government to hike the price of soybean oil by Tk 20 per liter.

The organization submitted the proposal to the Bangladesh Trade and Tariff Commission (BTTC).

Md Mahmodul Hasan, deputy chief of the commission, told risingbd that the association submitted the proposal on August 3, demanded for raising the non-branded soybean oil to Tk 180 per liter, a liter branded soybean oil to Tk 205, and the five-liter container to Tk 960.
