UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet will arrive in Dhaka on Sunday at the invitation of the Bangladesh government.
A release of UN Human Rights headquarters in Geneva said this on Friday.
This is the first visit of UN human rights chief in Bangladesh.
During her four-day visit, the UN rights chief is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and other ministers. She will also visit Rohingya refugee camps.
The visit comes ahead of the fifth anniversary this month of the Rohingya exodus into the southeastern tip of neighbouring Bangladesh.
The camps house nearly one million Rohingya refugees that fled a military offensive in Myanmar.
