Foreign minister AK Abdul Momen has explained a day after his comment that people are living in heaven in comparison to other countries.
The minister came up with the explanation while replying to reporters after an award giving ceremony in Sylhet on Saturday (August 13).
AK Abdul Momen said, “I said about heaven in comparison to other countries. But you (reporters) have just written everywhere that I have said of heaven (Bangladesh). It means the statement has been twisted.”
"You did not mention that the inflation in Bangladesh is lower than that of other countries. Inflation is 12% in England, 67% in Turkey, 37% in Pakistan, 150% in Sri Lanka and 7% in our country. We are doing well in this sense," explained the minister.
Meanwhile, regarding the Prime Minister’s India tour he said, the Premier will visit India in next month. The bilateral relations between India and Bangladesh will be prioritized in that tour.
