Three more die of dengue in 24 hours

Three more patients died of dengue in 24 hours to Monday morning, rising the toll to 53 this year, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Another 482 patients were hospitalised with the viral fever during same period, rising total patients currently receiving treatment at hospitals to 2,132 across the country.

From January 1 to September 26 this year, the number of patients admitted to various hospitals in the country was recorded 14,362.

Mentionable, from January 1 to December 31 last year, the number of dengue patients admitted to the hospital was 28,429. 28,265 people made recovery during the period. A total of 105 people died of dengue last year.
