Youth dies after jumping off 6th floor of DMCH

A youth has died after he allegedly jumped off the 6th floor of the new building of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH). 

The deceased was known as Riazul Islam Roni, 28, son of Dulal Bepari of Chandpur district.

It was learned that Roni was admitted to the Medicine Department at 6th floor of new building of DMCH on Septemer 26 due to mental and physical illness. He jumped off the floor around 7:00 pm on Tuesday (September 27), sustaining serious injuries. Then, he was taken to the Emergency Department of the hospital. Later, he was taken to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Around 3:30 pm on Friday (September 30), he succumbed while undergoing treatment.

Bachchu Mia, Inspector of DMCH Police Outpost, said, “Relatives will take the body to village home without autopsy.”
