‘Court to take measures if Khaleda joins rally’

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said that the court would take measures if BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia joins the party rally to be held in Dhaka on December 10.

He further said, “As per their demand, BNP has been given permission to hold the rally at the Suhrawardy Udyan. But if they hold the rally at Paltan, they will make mistake.”

In reply to a query of the journalists, the Home Boss said this after emerging from an event held at Bangladesh Police Auditorium in the capital’s Rajarbag on Wednesday (November 30) noon.

Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said, “The application BNP submitted to DMP Commissioner for the rally permission stated Manik Mia Avenue and Suhrawardy Udyan. That’s why after considering various issues, they were permitted to hold it at the Suhrawardy Udyan. If they hold the rally outside the venue, will create public suffering. Alongside, there is a fear of deteriorating law and order situation. Basically they will consider the things. And if they do not do that and hold rally as they wish will make a mistake.

In reply to another query, the Minister said, “BNP Chief Khaleda Zia is convicted by the court. Though she was released after suspending the punishment through executive order. Even then, if she joins the rally after ignoring the court order, the court will take measure against her later.”
