Dhaka-N’ganj train service suspended from Dec 4

The train service on Dhaka-Narayanganj route will be temporarily closed from December 4 for the Padma Bridge Rail Link project.

Ministry of Railways issued a press release in this regard on Wednesday (November 30).

According to the notice, Bangladesh Railway has decided to suspend all trains plying on the Dhaka-Narayanganj route from December 4, 2022, in order to complete the project quickly.

The authority took the steps to complete the construction of three separate rail links in the Dhaka-Gendaria section under the Padma Bridge Rail Link Project. About Tk40,000 crore will be spent to build the 169-kilometer-long dual gauge rail line.

Train service will resume on the route soon after the work is completed, said the notice.
