Gaibandha by-poll: EC to take action against 133

The Election Commission has decided to take action against 133 people involved in conducting a by-election of the Gaibandha-5 seat that was suspended due to irregularities.

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal said this while addressing reporters at the Election Bhaban in the capital on Thursday (December 1).

He said, each appointing authority, will have to inform the EC within one month after implementing the decision.

Of them, one is an additional deputy commissioner (overall), one executive magistrate, 126 presiding officers, and five sub-inspectors (SI).
