Woman trapped under car: Case filed against ex-DU teacher

A private car hit a woman named Rubina Akhtar and dragged her several hundred yards in the capital’s Nilkhet, leaving her dead.
A case has been filed against Ajhar Shah, a sacked teacher of the Dhaka University, with Shabagh Thana.
Deceased’s brother Jakir Hossain filed the case on Friday midnight.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shahbagh Thana Nur Mohammad confirmed the news on Saturday morning.
The case has been filed under a road safety law, and Ajhar Shah has been shown arrested in the case, the OC said.
It is learnt that Rubina Akhtar was going to Hazaribagh by motorcycle with her brother-in-law. A speeding private car hit the motorcycle, causing her clothes entangled with the wheels of the private car. The private car dragged her some distance. The woman was seriously injured after being crushed by the wheels. She was immediately taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where duty doctors declared him dead.
