The High Court (HC) has said that the people who are confined in prison also have the right of getting health care. They should be given the service needed.
The HC bench of Justice KM Kamrul Kader and Justice Mohammad Ali said this for Health DG Abul Bashar Mohammed Khurshid Alam on Tuesday (January 24).
The High Court said we do not want to call anyone. It’s not nice. We give a lot of time. Whenever the court order is not obeyed even after giving time again and again, then we are to call.
At that time Attorney General AM Amin Uddin said please consider it. The health sector issue has happened due to covid. At that time, the High Court said, the government does not give less money in any sector.
Referring to the issue of corruption in Faridpur Medical, the court said, the price of a thing cannot be 400 times compared to the market. Foreigners do not run the country. We are running the country ourselves.
At that time, the Attorney General told the court that doctors have been appointed everywhere.
The High Court called the director general of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) in front of dias and said that the people of this country are poor. People go to the doctor when they are in danger. It is a great profession. Doctors also provide services from morning till night. They do not seem to have individual lives. Still people do not get service. You will see the matter. As a poor country, the government allocates enough money to the health sector. If anything comes from the Attorney General’s office, you will pay attention.
Then, Health DG told the court that the implementation of the court’s order was unintentionally delayed. Such a mistake will not happen again. I apologize for this. Later, the court fixed May 2 for the next order in the case.
