140 business houses named as top VAT payers 

The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has named 140 companies and businesses for depositing the highest amount of Value-Added Tax (VAT) to the state coffers for the fiscal year 2018-19 both on a national and district level.

A letter signed by Israt Jahan Ruma, secretary of VAT-Training and Rewards Branch confirmed the matter on Thursday (December 3).

Earlier, a notification was issued in this regard on November 30.

The national-level companies in the manufacturing sector are Popular Pharmaceuticals, Berger Paints Bangladesh, and Fair Electronics.
