RCSC hosts meeting dedicated to 49th anniv of diplomatic relations with Bangladesh

A solemn meeting was held on Sunday at the Russian Center for Science and Culture (RCSC) in Dhaka to mark the 49th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bangladesh and Russia.

The audience attentively followed speeches delivered by the Director of the RCSC Mr. Maxim Dobrokhotov, President of the Soviet Alumni Association Bangladesh (SAAB) Engr. Taksem A. Khan, Secretary General of the Association Dr. Zainal Abedin, former President of SAAB Engr. Dr. Golam Mostofa, Secretary of the Bangladesh-Russia Friendship Society Dr. Md. Shahidulla Shikder, Chairman of the Liberation War Academy Trust Dr. Abul Kalam Azad.

The speakers noted the importance of maintaining friendly ties between the two countries and of further developing a progressive dialogue in all areas, including energy, military-technical cooperation, economy, education and culture. The event was also attended by representatives of the University of Dhaka, NGOs, local media, and students of Russian language courses at the RCSC.

Participants also got acquainted with a retrospective exhibition set up on the occasion of this significant date.
