BNP calls Aug 21 killing as an accident: Obaidul

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has said that BNP has called the August 21 killing as an accident as they failed to kill Sheikh Hasina as per blue print of Hawa Bhaban.

He made the remarks during a video conference with officials of the Rajshahi Roads Department from his official residence in the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban area on Saturday.

Obaidul Quader claimed that the grenade attack was carried out on August 21 with the aim of destroying the spirit of the liberation war.

It is clear that it was not possible to carry out such an attack without the patronage of a government.  They carried out the attack as part of continuous conspiracy after August 15, 1975.   It is clear that they wanted to kill Sheikh Hasina, pointed out Obaidul Quader.

The then government did not think that Sheikh Hasina would survive, and top BNP leaders knew all things, he said.

‘The statements and documentary evidence of Mufti Hannan and others have proved that who were behind the attack, he said.
