Rapists getting shelter from govt: Fakhrul

BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said the rapists are getting shelter from the government, that is why they are being encouraged to commit more misdeeds.

The BNP stalwart made the remarks while speaking at a human chain in front of the National Press Club in the capital on Friday (October 09).

BNP secretary general said, “The situation that is going on in the country is not that of a civilized society. It has become a completely uncivilized society. In a society where there is no morality, no justice, no freedom of law, today we have become such a society.”

Blaming the Awami League government for the situation, he said, “They have created a terrible anarchy in this society. All over the country, those who are involved in rape, oppression and injustice are getting shelter from this government and that is why they are being encouraged to commit more misdeeds.”

He further said, “The government has been working from the very beginning to establish a one-party system of government by banning dissenting political parties.” Why the lack of security for women in our country today? Why are the children of the country being abused? The only reason for this is that this government is not the government of the people.”
