Nasir Uddin Sarker gets JP ticket for Dhaka-18 by-poll

Jatiya Party on Saturday (October 10) nominated Nasir Uddin Sarker, to contest the Dhaka-18 by-election slated for November 12.

JP Chairman Golam Mohammad Quader (GM Quader) announced the name of the candidate after an interview with aspirants.

Earlier, a meeting of the nomination board took place at Jatiya Party’s Banani office. Meanwhile, JP Director General Ziauddin Ahmed Bablu, Co-Chairman Majibul Haque Chunnu, Advocate Salma Islam, JP presidium member Rezaul Islam Bhuyian and others joined the meeting.

According to election schedule, the by-elections to two constituencies Dhaka-18 and Sirajganj-1 will be held using electronic voting machines.

The Dhaka-18 seat fell vacant after the death of former minister and Awami League presidium member Sahara Khatun on July 9.
