BNP leaders stage demo in front of Fakhrul’s house

Supporters of those deprived of the party’s nomination for the by-election of Dhaka-18 constituency have staged demonstration in front of the house of BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
Hundreds of leaders and activists gathered in front of the BNP secretary general’s residence in the capital’s Uttara on Saturday (October 10) afternoon.
It was learned that workers and supporters of seven other candidates in the Dhaka-18 constituency against BNP candidate SM Jahangir took part in the protest. From noon onwards, they took position in front of BNP secretary general’s house and started chanting slogans against Jahangir. Witnesses said protesters threw hundreds of eggs at Mirza Fakhrul’s residence at the end of the protest.
For the by-election of Dhaka-18 constituency, 9 candidates sought nomination from BNP. Among them, BNP has nominated SM Jahangir, president of Mahanagar Uttar Juba Dal.
