Charge hearing in Khaleda`s Gatco graft case Dec 22

The charge hearing in BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s Gatco corruption case has been deferred due to her illness.

Judge Mohammad Nazrul Islam of Special Judge Court-3 on Wednesday fixed December 22 for hearing.

Though the charge hearing was scheduled to be held on Wednesday, Khaleda Zia did not appear before the court because of her illness.
On the day, Khaleda Zia's lawyer Hannan Bhuiyan appealed to defer the date.

On September 2, 2007, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed the case against 13 people—including Khaleda and her youngest son, Arafat Rahman—with the Tejgaon police station; for their alleged corruption while penning a contract with Global Agro Trade (Pvt) Co Ltd (Gatco) for container management at inland container depots in Dhaka and Chittagong.
