Taposh not eligible as mayor: Sayeed Khokon

Former Mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and Awami League central committee member Mohammad Sayeed Khokon has claimed that Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh is not eligible for holding the mayoral post.

He made the remark at a human chain programme in front of the Kadam Fountain in the capital's High Court area on Saturday noon.

The human chain was organized demanding compensation and rehabilitation of the traders affected by the eviction drive from Dhaka South City Corporation at Fulbaria Super Market-2.

Sayeed Khokon alleged, “Taposh has transferred hundreds of crores of taka from Dhaka South City Corporation to its own Madhumati Bank. On the other hand, due to lack of money, the poor employees of the corporation are not getting salary for months. Various development projects of the city corporation have been stopped due to lack of funds”.

The affected traders and their family members were present at the human chain programme.
