BNP allowed to hold indoor programme

BNP was finally given permission to hold its planned rally on the event of Subarna Jayanti at Gulshan in the city.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) media wing’s additional deputy commissioner (ADC) said that the party applied for permission. Later, the authority gave the permission on 24 conditions after checking the plea.

Sources said, the program is scheduled to hold at Gulshan’s Lakeshore this afternoon. As part of it, no microphones outside of the indoor will be allowed during the function.

If the conditions were violated then legal action will be taken, police said.

Earlier, senior leaders of BNP met the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Benazir Ahmed on Wednesday to get permission.
