Khelafat-e-Majlish, one of the key partners of the BNP-led 20-party alliance, today announced to stay aside from the coalition.
Khelafat-e-Majlish chairman Maulana Muhammad Ishaq made the announcement in a press conference in the capital on Friday (October 1).
The chairman of the party said that political alliances are issue-centered. Alliances are not a permanent issue. Khelafat-e-Majlish stayed with the 20-party alliance for the last 22 years.
From now on, we have cut ties with all political alliances, including the 20-party alliance, he added.
