Redwan, 3 others sent to jail

Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) Secretary General Redwan Ahmed and three others have been sent to jail in a case filed over shooting two Awami League activists.
Cumilla Judicial Magistrate Court-2 Judge Abu Bakar Siddique sent the four arrestees to jail after police produced them before it on Monday night.
Court Inspector Mujibir Rahman confirmed the news.
Awami League and Chhatra League members clashed with the activists of Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) on Chandina Degree College campus in Cumilla on Monday noon.
According to locals, Chhatra League activists chased Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) Secretary General Redwan Ahmed’s car when he was going to attend a LDP rally on the college campus. At that time, the AL activists were also holding a rally at the same venue.
At that time, from inside the car, Redwan fired two bullets from his pistol, injuring two Awami League activists – Jony Ahmed, 22, and Najmul Islam Nayeem, 28.
Later, Redwan was detained following the incident.
