BNP’s Sylhet divisional rally underway

As part of divisional public rallies, BNP is now holding a rally in Alia Madrasa ground of Sylhet city
The rally began after 11.30am.
BNP is holding divisional public rallies to press for its different demands, including immediate resignation of the government and holding the next general election under a non-party administration.
The programme is also meant for protesting the hike in prices of essential commodities, fuel and fertiliser, and deaths of five BNP men in different districts.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir is present as the chief guest while Sylhet District BNP President Abdul Quium Chowdhury is presiding over the meeting.
Defying transport strikes and various other obstacles, a good number of leaders and activists of BNP and its associate bodies gathered at the rally venue.
The BNP workers and activists started thronging the rally venue from Friday morning. BNP activists stayed in camps built in Sylhet’s Chowhatta area. Separate camps were set up for different chapters of BNP. There were also arrangements for food in these camps.
Many BNP activists came to Sylhet by trawler and boat from Sunamganj to join the rally.
