Police has prevented BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir from going to the party’s Nayapaltan office.
The incident took place around 11.00am on Thursday.
The BNP secretary general’s car was stopped by law enforcers at the Nightingale intersection as police cordoned off the party’s central office.
Mirza Fakhrul said, “Police prevented him from visiting the BNP headquarters. Why will I not be allowed to go to my party office? They [police] put bombs inside the BNP office to foil the party's peaceful rally”.
The BNP leader also demanded immediate withdrawal of police personnel from the party office.
