Scenic beauty of Kathmandu
Uday Hakim, Back from Nepal: A bit earlier I observed the panoramic landscape of white snow, wrapped by glittering sun.
The unprecedented unique scenes cannot be illustrated or narrated by manmade words. The first flicker of a golden Sun colored mountain peak into a wonderful dreamland.
We all became tired enough for restive journey. A long shower rejuvenated us after check in a hotel of Pokhara. After having breakfast with various dishes we got into the bus. The driver ignited its wheel just at 7. O clock. Destination was Pokhara from Kathmandu.
We resided near Phewa Lake in Pokhara where we even could not see the Himalaya. Though the Himalaya was very close to us but due to dense fog in the morning it count not be visible. Within 10 minutes we crossed the town. But surprisingly, we noticed that the Himalaya is too close to us after Sun reflected on it!
The highways are running beside two kilometers off the skyscraper Himalaya. But virtually, the glittering snow looked very close to us as they welcomed us!
This part of geography in Pokhara is well-known as ‘fish tail’ of the great Himalaya that advanced from West to the East. The reflection of bright sunbeams made our vision confusing. Many founts and fountains were born from Himalayas. Some were looked like canal and some were looked like tiny rivers. The dazzling and clean water of the river roused our thirsty.
In this journey, our squad had 22 members. Walton lifted the title of Corporate Cricket League. The championship sponsored us a great opportunity to tour in Nepal.
When we all were busy with viewing plenty natural beauty of Himalaya, an assistant manager of the Team Liton disrupted us as he wanted to response to the call of nature. Feroj Alam however, forecast before the start that Liton must halt the journey! The bus however, ran an hour with hilly and encircling valley roads.
The magnificent Himalaya runs with us simultaneously. Driver turned his steering wheel towards south; we rewind our rear beauty of silver mountains. Is it our last visit there!
We have already advanced 30 kilometers south from Pokhara. We surrounded by hills, tiny rivers, a wave of fog on the river, green trees and nature. But we noticed that the rivers are remaining without water. After end of April, the rivers become filled to the brim when the ice melts from the Himalaya.
After two hours journey, we found a mastered filed, vegetable fields and tiny dwelling houses on the lap of hills. The blend of nature and life inside mountain made us ardent. But stony lands cannot produce much crop there as the earth were not so fertile.
Our voyage now turned into south again. It is Bandipur Kholachora Dam. The dam produces hydropower electricity. Bipin informed us that Nepal is top among countries in power crisis. Despite whatever they produce, however, goes to India. Solar panel is visible in most house roofs even in our hotel where we checked in.
Now we turned towards Lamjung Mountain which is 100 kilometer east from Pokhara. The blend of river Trishuli, the prime river of Nepal and mountain made our mind in different flavor. The mountains are decorated with colourful stones. Another river from west mixed with Trishuli here. After crossing Trishuli Bridge we get down from bus for a break of the venture and took some snaps whatever we got.
We came at the climax position of risky venture. We reached at Karintar area where only cable car station in Nepal is available. The car route is 3.1 kilometer long and 300 meter high on the river. But we failed to reach the wired car due to limited time schedule.
We visited Monokamona temple where huge rush is visible all time. There is an old religions myth waves here that if dishearten worshiper prays anything from here, the God listens it. I however, watched a TV show in Discovery channel on the rituals of worshipers.
It was almost noon! Our stomach was ringing bells for extreme hunger. We entered into a restaurant but menu were not satisfactory as the dishes of curry were not choice full for us. We returned from the hotel and bought 5 kg fresh Oranges. We returned with hungry stomach as no good menu was found.
Later we reached at Dhajing, neighboring district of Kathmandu. Rare plain land is specialty of Dhajing. Bipin Babu informed, most vegetables and foods are supplied from here to capital Kathmandu.
Kathmandu is surrounded in east by large mountain. We saw it on way to Pokhara. We started to step up on the hill around an hour. The path was so risky that we could not look behind. The people and other vehicles were looked as small like ants when we looked below. Bipin again informed, if the cars get an accident, none tried to rescue it further as there is no possibility to remain alive.
We were still bearing with unbearable hunger. Both hunger and fear of death inside the mountain valley made our mind a little bit panicky. Hungry withered away when we stepped on the mountain and watched the whole Kathmandu city at a glance from there. Wow! Really it was a pleasant scene indeed. The magnificence views of the capital soothed our eyes and mind. The horizontal view made us ponder again that how a landscape comes so beautiful!
Finally, we got food after evening when sun was set. A day-long journey along with mountain tracking made us worn-out. Despite physical weakness, we could not go to bed without having a city view.
The way from Kathmandu to Pokhara can be compared with a human life. Life has ups and downs, happiness and sorrows like mountain life. Here we could found mountain, river, snow, forest, muddy road, plain land vast horizon.
In fine, it can be said, to travel Pokhara to Kathmandu was like viewing a whole life cycle. Basically, life is a travel and meaning of life is to watch and enjoy.
