Mother-son burnt in fire from gas cylinder

A woman and her son were burnt in a fire broke out from gas cylinder leakage at Gazipur village under Faridganj in Chandpur on Friday (June 10).

The victims were known as Meera Sutradhar, 45, and her son Amar Sutradhar, 23.

According to locals, Amar was burnt from leakage of gas cylinder as soon as he set fire in the morning. Meeta also sustained burn injuries as she went forward to save her son.

They were firstly taken to Chandpur Sadar Hospital. Howeve, they were later referred to Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute in the capital.

Md Shawkat BSC, Chairman of Paikpara Dakshin, confirmed the matter. He said, “Both mother and son were sent to Dhaka for better treatment as they sustained sever burn injuries.”
