All lampposts simultaneously light up on Padma Bridge

All 415 lampposts on the Padma Bridge were lighted up simultaneously on both Mawa and Zajira sides through direct power connection on Tuesday (June 14) evening.

Padma Bridge Executive Engineer Dewan Md Abdul Quader confirmed the matter.

He said Munshiganj Palli Bidyut Samiti and Shariatpur Palli Bidyut Samiti had provided electrical connections to the lampposts on either end of the bridge.

He further said, “Earlier lampposts on Padma Bridge were lighted up on trial basis with generator power for several times. Besides, 207 lampposts on the Munshiganj side of the Padma Bridge were lit up with electricity connection on Monday (June 13).”

Mentionable, the inauguration of the 6.15km long Padma Bridge is scheduled to be held on June 25. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will open the bridge officially on the day.
