Walton launches two new models of Primo smartphones

Walton has launched two new models of Android smart phone under ‘Primo’ series. The new mobile phone sets are known as ‘Primo X1 and Primo H1.

The new smartphones were formerly launched on Saturday at the conference room of the Media Office of R.B. Group at Motijheel in the capital.

These 3G sets are now available at mobile phone markets including the Walton Plazas across the country.

Authorities concerned said the newly launched smartphones are likely to attract the customers for their designs and affordable prices.

Walton’s Executive Directors S.M. Zahid Hasan and Humayun Kabir, Senior Deputy Director Iqbal Bin Anwar, Deputy Directors S.M. Rejoan Alam and Mohammad Firoj Alam, and Media Advisor Enayet Ferdous, among others, were present at the launching ceremony.

Sources at the Walton’s Cellular Phone Division said the new Primo series handsets are equipped with latest Android Jelly Bean operating system (4.1.2), high speed Quad Core processor, 1.2 GHz processor, high resolution display, 1GB RAM, high definition video recording and playback facilities.

Primo X1 handset is equipped with 4.65-inch HD Super Amolade display second-generation gorilla glass, 8.0 megapixel auto-focus back camera and 2.0 megapixel front camera. It ensures taking snaps of high quality pictures compared to other cameras. The handset offers 3G video calling facilities. Besides, it gives 1080 full HD video recording and playback facilities. The size of the set is 135.5 *70*8.6mm and weighing 132 grams.

Primo H-1 smartphone is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, 4.7-inch OGS IPS Display, 8.0 megapixel auto-focus back camera and 2.0 megapixel front camera. Having 3G facilities, this handset also has video recording and playback facilities. Three back covers are offered with this handset at free of cost.

Engineer Parvez Ahmed of Cellular Phone Division said the newly-launched handsets would attract the customers, because they will be able to make video calls apart from browsing internet on these handsets.

Besides, he said the high-speed processor has increased the efficiency of these handsets manifold.

Walton’s Deputy Director (Cellular Phone Division) S.M. Rejoan Alam expressed the hope that the new Walton smartphones would generate huge response in the market.

He said the newly-launched handsets would remain within the affordability of the common people. 

Rejoan Alam also mentioned that Walton received unprecedented response from customers after launching first-ever Primo series Android phones last year.

It may be mentioned that the Primo N-1 smartphone, which was marketed last week, has already created great sensation among customers. It has 5.3-inch IPS display.

Besides, it provides face detection facilities, along with 8.0 megapixel auto-focus camera (back) and 1.3 megapixel front camera. It is also equipped with 1080 P Full HD video recording and 3G video calling facilities. One 3000 MAH marathon battery is also offered with the set.

It is learnt that Primo N-1 series handsets have already been sold out in many Walton Plaza showrooms on the first day of launching.
