4th AGM of JALTAB held

The 4th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the “Japanese Language Teachers’ Association of Bangladesh (JALTAB)” was held on Friday. 

This year’s AGM was held virtually (on ZOOM), and was divided into two sessions.

In first session, the Founder President of JALTAB Dr Mohammed Ansarul Alam, Associate Professor of the Japanese Language and Culture, University of Dhaka delivered his welcome speech. Then, General Secretary Mr Kuniaki Okabayashi, Principal of Kokorozashi & Kazuko Bhuiyan Japanese Cultural Center, presented the Annual Report followed by the Financial Report presented by the Treasurer Mr ABM Azizur Rahman.

In the second session, two high officials of the Cultural & Information Section of the Embassy of Japan in Bangladesh Ms Mai TOMORI and Ms Megumi SHIMIZU joined the AGM as guests. Founder President of JALTAB Dr. Mohammed Ansarul Alam welcomed them and delivered a special presentation on “Journey of JALTAB”. In his presentation Dr. Alam explained the background of the establishment of JALTAB and activities so far. 

He also explained future plan of the association. Dr Alam expressed his gratitude to the Embassy of Japan and the Japan Foundation for providing membership of “SAKURA NETWORK” and their continuous supports. 

The Embassy officials praised JALTAB activities and ensured that they will continue their support to the JALTAB to spread the Japanese language education in Bangladesh. 

The AGM ended with the Vote of Thanks by the General Secretary Mr Kuniaki Okabayashi.
