Covid-19 vaccinations in Bangladesh to begin on Sunday

Bangladesh is all set to start a nationwide immunization drive against Coronavirus or Covid-19 from Sunday (February 7).

After inaugurating the immunization drive, Health Minister Jahid Malek will take the vaccine on that day at Gastro Liver Hospital & Research Institute Ltd in Dhaka.

In a press conference, Dr ABM Khurshid Alam, director general (DG) of the Directorate General of Health Services confirmed the matter on Saturday (February 6).

Additional DG Nasima Sultana and Mirjadi Sebrina Flora and others attended the press conference.

The DG said, “We have managed to collect Coronavirus vaccines earlier than many other countries. Now, we are going to start the vaccination on time.

206 teams in 50 centers in Dhaka and 2,196 teams in 955 spots (outside of Dhaka) will work across the country, he added.

Till Saturday evening, around 328,013 people around the country have registered to receive the Covid-19 vaccine during the inoculation.
