Youth killed in senior-junior conflict

A youth was killed in a conflict over senior-junior at Aftab Nagar area in the capital’s Badda on Friday (February 26).

The deceased was identified as Kazol Gazi, 23. He breathed his last while undergoing treatment in a private hospital at Panthapath on Friday.

Earlier, on Monday (February 22) evening, he was chopped to serious injury.

Parvez Islam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Badda Police Station, confirmed the news.

He said, “A murder case will be filed in this connection. Drive is being conducted to arrest the killes.”

According to police and deceased’s relatives, two groups locked into horns over playing cricket at Aftab Nagar of Badda on Monday. People of both groups locked into altercation at that time. Later, gangster group’s Emon, Rabbi, Sagor, Pappu and several others chopped Kazol with a sharp weapon indiscriminately, leaving him seriously wounded. He was immediately taken to hospital. Kazol had a conflict with Emon and his friends over senior-junior fact. As a sequel to that, Kazol was attacked.

According to locals, Kazol was a college student. Although Emon Kazol was young in terms of age, there were quarrels between them at different times over the demand for seniority. The matter was also resolved locally more than once. But the boys of Emon’s group were planning to attack Kazol and his friends.
