Public transports are plying inside the capital Dhaka following health rules.

The government has allowed to ply public transports inside cities and district towns following health rules from May 6.

During visit, it was seen that most of the buses had comparatively less passengers. In Mirpur, Shyamoli, Kalyanpur, Technical and Gabtali areas, buses are plying on different roads from the morning with a small number of passengers. Hygiene rules are being followed in most of the buses as per the instructions given by the government.

Passengers were seen waiting for the bus under the overbridge in Mirpur-1 area. Disinfectant spray was seen in the hands of each bus driver's assistant. Passengers are using it before boarding the buses. Most of the passengers were seen wearing masks.

Mohammad Akbar Hossain, a bus driver of Transilva Paribahan, said “After many days, the government has allowed to ply public transports. So, we want to run buses following all the instructions given by the government. The owner has also instructed us not to commit any irregularities”.

Mohammad Hanif Mia, a passenger, said “I work in a private company. Due to the lockdown, the transport was closed and I had to suffer a lot. I had to spend Tk 300/400 instead of Tk 50 every day. Our sufferings have reduced, so we should wear masks and follow hygiene rules”.
