PM attends Padma Bridge inaugural ceremony at Mawa point

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has attended the Padma Bridge inaugural ceremony at Mawa point in Munshiganj.

The Prime Minister reached Mawa point at 10.00am on Saturday by helicopter to join the programme.

More than 3500 distinguished guests including foreign diplomats, business leaders, leaders of professional bodies, senior government officials, different political party leaders and civil society members attended the event.

The Prime Minister will formally open the Padma Bridge by unveiling the inaugural plaque and mural-1 after paying toll at the Mawa point. She will also join a munajat to be offered there.
    
She will begin her journey for Jajira point in Shariatpur from Mawa point by road crossing the bridge.
 
The premier will reach Jajira point and unveil the inaugural plaque of the bridge and mural-2. She will also join a munajat there.
 
Sheikh Hasina, also Awami League president, will join a public rally of the party marking the opening of the bridge at Kathalbari under Shibchar upazila in Madaripur district.
