Prime Minister inaugurates Chhatra League’s council

Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the 30th national council of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) around 11:15 am on Tuesday at the historic Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital.

President Al-Nahean Khan Joy and General Secretary Lekhak Bhattacharjee are conducting the sessions of the council.

Leaders and members started gathering at the venue from the morning. There was a festive mood all around with colourful banners and decorations in places of the city.

In its last council held on May 11, 2018, Rezwanul Haque Chowdhury Shovon was selected as the president of the Chhatra League and Golam Rabbani as the general secretary.

Later, on September 14, 2019, Al-Nahean Khan Joy and Lekhak Bhattacharjee were declared acting president and acting general secretary soon after then president Rezwanul and Rabbani were removed from their posts.

On January 04, 2020, Al-Nahean Khan Joy and Lekhak Bhattacharjee were made full president and general secretary respectively.
