Bangladesh team manager, physio test Covid-19 positive in Qatar

Bangladesh national foot team on Thursday reached Qatar to play their away fixture of the forthcoming World Cup 2022 and Asia Cup 2023 qualifier against the hosts on December 4.

Bangladesh on Friday received another shock that their team manager and physio tested positive for coronavirus.

Although the entire fleet including the national team footballer, was tested for coronavirus before flying to Qatar, none of them was found positive.

After touching down on Qatar’s soil, all of them tested again. Of them, manager Amer Khan and physio Fuad Hassan found contracted with coronavirus. However, except for these two, no one was reported to be infected with coronavirus.

Earlier, head coach Jamie Day was left isolated in Dhaka after he was tested Covid-19 positive prior to second FIFA friendly against Nepal. The English tactician is awaiting quick recovery to join the team abroad soon. Footballer Manik Molla was also ruled out from the team due to coronavirus infection.
