Mahedi powers Rajshahi to thrilling win over Dhaka

All-rounder Mahedi Hasan on Tuesday (November 24) powered Minister Group Rajshahi to a narrow two-run win over Beximco Dhaka in the opening match of Bangabandhu Twenty20 Cup.

In batting, Mahedi hit a brilliant innings of 50 runs off 32 balls to help Rajshahi put up a competitive total of 169-9. In bowling, he defended nine runs in the final over to restrict Dhaka to 167-5.

Dhaka won the toss and chose to bowl first. Then, Rajshahi suffered a collapse in the beginning and at the end of their innings. However, the team ledy by Najmul Hassan Shanto managed to post a challenging total owing to a 92-run sixth wicket stand between Mahedi and Nurul Hasan [39 off 20 balls].
