Bangladesh national cricket team player Mominul Haque needs surgery on his left thumb, BCB’s chief physician Debashis Chowdhury confirmed.

The cricketer will have to face the surgery as a fracture is found at the finger.

However, BCB could not finalize the decision about whether the surgery to be performed at home or abroad.

Earlier on Saturday, Mominul was unbeaten against Khulna taking 5 runs off 7 balls. He hurt his right thumb while fielding in the 18th over off the bowling of left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman, and suffered a fracture after undergoing a scan.

Later, the cricketer was been ruled out of the remainder of the Bangabandhu T20 Cup.

Chief physician Debashis Chowdhury said, “Mominul will need a surgery. The fracture has extended. It’s not possible to go abroad instantly due to the coronavirus situation. There are quarantine and visa complexity issues. We will take a decision after discussion.”
