Mymensingh Riders clinch maiden Walton MPL title

Mymensingh Riders clinched the title of the maiden Mymensingh Premier League.
The team beat Mymensingh Thunder for 8 wickets in the 100-ball tournament arranged by the Mymensingh Masters Cricket Association at the Circuit House ground on Friday (December 25).
After losing the toss, Thunder batted first and managed to score 116 runs for nine wickets.
Farhad Reza, who played first time in the tournament, hit an innings of 28 runs off 13 balls.
Rony and Swadhin shared three wickets each for Riders.
In chase, Riders’ Uttam and Monir made flying start and scored a partnership of 55 runs.
Though they returned to the pavilion just for two balls apart, Sabbir Rahman and Al-Amin reached the target with remaining 8 balls left. Sabbir and Al-Amin (both unbeaten) hit 37 runs and 23 runs respectively.
Rony became the Man of the Match while Shuvagata Hom Man of the Tournament.
Country’s firsts sports channel ‘T Sports’ broadcast the match live.
State Minister of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs K M Khalid, MP was present as chief guest in the final match while Mymensingh City Corporation Mayor Ikramul Haque Titu as special guest.
Superintendent of Police (SP) in Mymensingh Ahmar Uzzaman, additional deputy commissioner Jahangir Alam, RAB-14 Captain Lt Col Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Director Khaled Mahmud, Walton Group’s First Senior Additional Director Milton Ahmed, District Awami League General Secretary Advocate Moazzem Hossain Babul and Upazila Parishad Chairman Ashraf Hossain.
