What we know about admission process in Shakib’s academy

Finally, the dream of the world’s best all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is going to come true. The Masco Shakib Cricket Academy is launching its journey in February.

The opportunity for little cricketers, who dream to become Shakib, is not far away from their cherished expectation. The Masco Shakib Academy is set to launch its admission process from Saturday (January 15).

No fees for admission form

Admission forms are being released from Saturday (January 15). The form can be collected from Masco Shakib Cricket Academy in Purbachal and Masco Group’s head office in Sector 7, Uttara in the capital. Then you have to submit it by January 30. 

Hiron, manager of the academy, said, “You have to buy the form from the academy. Birth registration, photo must be submitted. No fee needs for the form.”

No age limit

Anyone can collect the admission form of Shakib’s academy. The authorities of the academy did not fix any age for the admission seekers. Those who are old enough to be cricketers will be considered for admission here.

Selection after ending form submission

The selection process will start after January 30. There are two segments in the selection phase. In the first, the judges will make a preliminary selection of the aspirants based on their age and qualifications. In the second segment, those who will pass the preliminary selection will be called for trial. Those who can prove their talent and qualifications will get chance for admission.

How to pick?

Experienced coach Mohammad Salauddin will lead the selection process. He will be accompanied by some more experienced coaches of the country. If someone wants to be a spinner, he must have to test spin bowling in the qualifying round. For batting, aspirant will have to face test for batting. If someone wants to be an all-rounder, he has to pass both batting and bowling.

If selected for admission, then…

After qualifying in the selection phase, you will be allowed for admission. However, if you want to be admitted to Shakib’s academy, you have to keep in mind the cost. Because you have to pay Tk 25,000 as admission fee. The monthly fee has been fixed at Tk 10,000 for Masco Shakib Cricket Academy. If someone wants to take residential benefits, he has to pay Tk 25,000 per month. 

Manager Hiron said, “The initial admission fee is Tk 25,000. There will be advance facilities to the residents. For this, you have to spend Tk 25,000. The monthly tuition fee is at Tk 10,000.”

Arrangements for resident students

There will be sections- day care and resident. After admission, you can return home after practice. If anyone wants to learn cricket there, there are arrangements for him. The academy authorities will admit them in the local educational institutions. The manager said, “If you want to study in a school, there are many schools in the area. We will admit them in schools.”

Practice to start from February 10

The authorities will start the process of selecting cricketers from February 1. After passing the selection phase, the practice will start from February 10 with those who will be admitted.

Shakib frequently visits the academy

Shakib’s teacher Mohammad Salauddin will be in full charge of the academy. However, little cricketers will also get the world’s best all-rounder. The manager exclaimed, “Salauddin sir will supervise. Besides, Shakib Sir will also come regularly and spend time with cricketers.”

What’s in the academy?

Shakib’s academy has been built on 16 bighas of land. There are facilities for practice on 12,000 square feet land. There are six wickets in the center wicket. Besides, there are 19 wickets in the entire academy including indoor and outdoor. There you can practice indoors and outdoors day and night. Powerful floodlights have been put in place to practice in artificial light. Indoor bowling machines are coming from England. Besides, an air-conditioning system has also been set up. There are also two dressing rooms, a walking area, a restroom, a gymnasium and a cafeteria.
