International cricket is returning in Bangladesh with the Bangladesh and West Indies series. In honor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s birth centenary, the series has been named ‘Bangabandhu Bangladesh-West Indies Cricket Series 2021.’ Lavello Ice Cream has become the title sponsor of the series while Walton powered by sponsor.

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury announced names of the sponsoring organization at the BGB Banquet Hall in the capital Dhaka on Saturday (January 16) afternoon.

BCB director Jalal Younus, Managing Director of Lovello Ice Cream Engineer Ekramul Haque, Walton Group Executive Director Uday Hakim and Sanaul Arefin of Managing Partner ‘Mattra’.

Chief Executive Officer Nizamuddin, on behalf of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), thanked Lovello and Walton for sponsoring the series. BCB director Jalal Younus said, “We would not have been able to move forward without sponsors. Lovello has joined with us again after 2015 while Walton is always with us. We always get Walton by our side in domestic and international cricket.”

Mentioning that Walton will always come forward to improve cricket whenever BCB urges, Walton Group Uday Hakim Executive Director said, “I thank BCB and the Mattra Consortium. They have given Walton a chance to be in this series.”

He wishes the Bangladesh team do well in the long-awaited international series.

“Wherever the Bangladesh team are playing whether domestic or international cricket, Walton has come forward with sponsorship. If the cricket board calls us wherever we need to improve Bangladesh cricket, we will be with them,” he added.

"There is nothing new about Walton," he said. Walton's slogan is a domestic product that has now become synonymous. As you know, electronics products were once imported to Bangladesh by ship. Now Walton products are being exported to 40 countries of the world with the words Made in Bangladesh, Bangladesh flag on the chest.

Citing that Walton is spreading all over the world, he further said, “There is nothing new to introduce Walton. Walton’s slogan ‘It’s our product’ has now become synonymous. As you know, electronics products were once imported to Bangladesh by ship. Now Walton products are being exported to 40 countries of the world with the tag of ‘Made in Bangladesh’, and the Bangladesh flag.

He added, ‘It could not be possible just in a day. There was cooperation by you and the buyers of the country. There was cooperation from the government. They have given us policy support. Please, you all receive greetings from Walton.”

The three-match ODI series will start on January 20. After the second ODI on January 22, the third ODI will be held on January 25. The first two will be in Dhaka while the last one in Chattogram.
