Tigers beat Windies to win ODI series 2-0

Bangladesh batsmen produced a commanding performance to ensure a seven-wicket victory and secure the three match ODI series by leading 2-0 over visiting West Indies at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka on Friday (January 22).

Chasing 148 runs, Tigers cruised past their target within 33.2 overs losing just three wickets to ensure victory.

Opener Tamim Iqbal hit innings highest 50 runs off 76 balls with 3 fours and a six.

Shakib Al Hasan (not out) smashed a quick innings of 43 runs off 50 balls. He smashed four boundaries in his innings.

Another opener Liton Das scored 22 runs from 24 balls with 4 fours.

Najmul Hossain Shanto hit 17 runs while Mushfiqur Rahim (not out) scored 9 runs.

Earlier off-spinner Mehidy Hasan Miraz helped Bangladesh bowl out West Indies for 148 runs in 43.4 overs with career-best 4-25 after West Indies skipper Jason Mohammed won the toss and elected to bat first.

The Tigers won Wednesday’s first match of the series by six wickets.

The third and final match is scheduled to be held in Chattogram on Monday (January 25).
