Tigers continue schedule practice in New Zealand

Bangladesh cricketers have continued their schedule practice in New Zealand although a 7.3 magnitude earthquake hit the country.

A Tsunami warning was given for mainly the coastal areas of North Island following the earthquake. But Christchurch is in South Island and is a long distance away from the epic entre of the quake. As a result, Bangladesh cricketers were safe, said Mohammed Jalal Yunus, team leader of Bangladesh National Cricket Team.

Nevertheless, the Bangladesh team management contacted with the local authorities who have assured that there was no reason for alarm in this part of the country. All team members are well. The day’s activities have continued as usual, he said.

Bangladesh is scheduled to play three ODIs, starting from March 20 in Dunedin. The next two games are scheduled for March 23 and 26 in Christchurch and Wellington respectively.

The visitors will then take part in the first T20I on March 28 in Hamilton before the second and third T20Is are played in Napier and Auckland on March 30 and April 1.
