Sri Lanka lose six wickets

Sri Lanka scored 425 runs with loss of six wickets in 146 overs on Day 2 of their second and final Test against Bangladesh at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy on Friday.

On Thursday, centuries from the opening pair -- skipper Dimuth Karunaratne and Lahiru Thirimanne -- helped Sri Lanka dominate Day 1.  

After winning the toss, the hosts decided to bat first against Bangladesh and amassed 291 for the loss of just one wicket at the end of the day.

The pitch offered next to nothing to the Bangladesh bowlers, but the visitors were also guilty of sitting on defensive lengths and spread-out fields from quite early on.
