Shakib issue: BCB set to conduct in-depth investigation, skippers summoned

Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited skipper Shakib Al Hasan has been banned for three matches and fined Tk 5 lakh for his controversial behavior in the match against Abahani Limited.
However, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB is set to conduct an in-depth investigation to find out why Shakib behaved arrogantly.
A probe body has been formed under the direction of BCB president Nazmul Hasan Papon, keeping four directors of the board and senior match referee Rakibul Hasan in the committee.
The committee has summoned the captains and managers of all the clubs participating in Dhaka Premier League (DPL). The BCB will listen to their statements for the next two days. The board will hold a meeting on June 15.
Earlier, the investigation report of Shakib issue has to be submitted to the BCB president. Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis (CCDM) chairman Kazi Inam Ahmed held a press conference in Gulshan on Saturday to disclose the report of the umpires and punishment by the match referee awarded to Shakib.
He said, “The board president called us. He is thinking about this and wants to know the whole thing. He wants to know the root cause of this phenomenon. We have a board meeting after 3 days. He has already made a committee and asked for an investigation. I am in that committee, there are Jalal Bhai, Durjoy, Sheikh Sohail and chief match referee Rakibul Hasan. We will sit with all the club managers and captains in the next two days”
The investigation committee is calling everyone to know whether there is any dissatisfaction in the ongoing Dhaka Premier League.
Kazi Inam added, “If there is any dissatisfaction with any issue, situation, decision of the DPL game, we will listen to it. He (the head of the board) wants a full report. We want to run the league well. Many have requested that the league should be continued, we are making the league beautiful by spending a lot. Our games being broadcast live on Pitch Vision. When so much is being done, then what does the league mean if such incident happens?”
